The investigation conducted by the Solana team into the hacking of thousands of cryptocurrency wallets showed that the addresses affected by the attack were “at some point created, imported or used in Slope mobile applications.”

Before that, the developers of Solana reported that the hacking was not caused by an error in the main code of the blockchain, but was related to software used by “several popular wallets”.

Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana Labs, wrote that anyone who has ever imported a seed phrase into Slope may consider it compromised.

Slope’s statement says that a number of the project’s wallets have been compromised and the team is actively investigating the incident. The developers “have several hypotheses,” but they did not name a specific reason for the hack.

Slope called on all users to create new wallets with other seed phrases and transfer their assets to them.

Representatives of the Phantom project, whose clients were also affected by the hack, said that they “have reason to believe” that the discovered exploit is connected with Slope. They advised users to transfer assets to new wallets of other providers
